Noteworthy: Polly Apfelbaum wins Rome Prize and Vienna

Durham Press would like to congratulate Polly Apfelbaum on winning the 116th annual Rome Prize Competition in Visual Arts. Polly’s name was announced with the other winners on April 26th in New York. Recipients of the 2012-13 Rome Prizes are provided with a fellowship that includes a stipend, a studio and room and board in Rome, Italy. The Rome Prize is a great honor and is awarded to individuals who represent the “highest standards of excellence in the arts and humanities”.

Polly Apfelbaum‘s current  show Planiverse at Galerie nachst Stephan in Vienna was featured in this beautiful video. The exhibition runs from March 30th through May 19,2012.
