Known as Miami’s premier anchor fair, Art Miami kicks off the opening day of Art Week — the first week of December when thousands of collectors, dealers, curators and artists descend upon Miami. World-famous for its stylish gallery-like decor, its outstanding quality and extraordinary variety, Art Miami showcases the best in modern and contemporary art from 125 international art galleries.

Durham Press will once again be participating in the fair with new and recent editions, as well as several older works by Beatriz Milhazes who is currently having a major retrospective at the new Perez Art Museum Miami.

Durham Press @ IFPDA Print Fair

Durham Press will be exhibiting at the IFPDA Print Fair from Thursday, November 7th through Sunday, November 10th with a preview day on Wednesday, November 6th. The annual fair is held at the Park Avenue Armory at 643 Park Avenue, New York, NY. Please visit us at Booth 301 at the front of the fair.In celebration of our 25th year in business, we have the honor of exhibiting in the front booth. Durham Press was founded in 1988 in a beautiful restored school in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, a short drive from New York City. Our facility houses a gallery and two printmaking studios, with silkscreen, hydraulic, and etching presses, as well as a large wood and metal shop. These studios and workspaces allow visiting artists the tools they need to explore the possibilities of printmaking and push the boundaries of this traditionally two dimensional media. Durham Press has been a member of the International Fine Print Dealers Association since 2000 and has participated in the Print Fair since 2002.

We will be exhibiting at VIP PAPER from April 18th through 21st. VIP Art Fair builds new technologies for the world’s most prominent contemporary art galleries to showcase available works by the artists they represent, for sophisticated collectors to connect with these galleries, and for the international art community to experience and engage with art. VIP Art Fair translates the experience of a traditional bricks-and-mortar fair to an online environment, serving as a site for exploration and conversation while empowering the relationship between collector and dealer. Durham Press Artists in Miami

Durham Press had a great week exhibiting at Art Miami– we enjoyed seeing the other fairs and all that Miami had to offer. It was fun to see old friends and meet new ones. Several of the Durham Press artists were in and around Miami. Here are a few highlights:

Art Basel Miami Beach

James Nares unveiled his new film Street at Paul Kasmin. The film was recently completed and features music by Thurston Moore. Mickalene Thomas had paintings and photography at Lehmann Maupin, Rhona Hoffman and Susanne Vielmetter. Sperone Westwater exhibited Emil Lukas‘ string and larva paintings. Hurvin Anderson had two paintings in Thomas Dane’s booth.

Around Miami

Foundation Cartier presented Aquarium by Beatriz Milhazes in a temporary space in Miami. The mobile is comprised of over 14,980 carats of diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires and rare jewels.

Durham Press is pleased to be a participant in Art Miami this year. The fair had a great opening last night and is open to the public today through Saturday from 11am until 7pm and Sunday from 11am until 6pm. Please stop by and say hello – we are in booth A27! Durham Press will be exhibiting at Art Maimi from November 30th through December 4th. The fair is open from 11am-7pm Wednesday through Saturday and 11am-6pm on Sunday. Durham Press will be exhibiting at the 2011 IFPDA Print Fair from November 3rd through the 6thin New York. The fair is open from 12pm-8pm Thursday through Saturday and 12-6pm on Sunday. The preview is on Wednesday, November 2nd from 6:30-9pm- all procedes benefit the IFPDA Foundation.
