Alison Elizabeth Taylor, b. 1973, Selma, AL
Alison Elizabeth Taylor lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She has an MFA from Columbia University in New York (2005) and BFA from the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA (2001). Taylor is represented by James Cohan Gallery where she has had three solo shows. The work in these shows has appeared in The New York Times, Art in America, ARTnews, Artforum, The New Yorker, Modern Painters and on NPR’s Studio 360. She has been a recipient of the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award, and a Smithsonian Artist Research Fellow. Taylor’s work has been included in exhibitions at National Academy Museum, New York, NY; Des Moines Art Center, IA; Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA. and an installation by Alison will be shown at the Museum of Art and Design in New York, NY in 2013.
